Wanting to know where to go to find more information on what motivates transition towns?
- transitiontowns.org - great place for information on transition movements and includes the transition primer, which is the best thing to read on how to get started
- transitionculture.org - a sister site of transitiontowns.org with more information on Rob Hopkins
- postcarbon.org - an action group for bringing people together to work out how to make a sustainable transition to a world without fossil fuels.
- www.theoildrum.com - a site for discussion about the future of energy.
- cluborlov.blogspot.com - a blog on the oncoming energy crisis.
- www.350.org - a campaign to keep atmospheric CO2 levels below 350ppm.

Households across Alness received something important in the post over the last two weeks of November. Alness Transition Town Group has been working with the Energy Saving Scotland advice centre for the Highlands and Islands to send out a Home Energy Check form. The Energy Saving Trust’s survey is a series of questions on the type of house you live in and how it is heated that is used to create a personalised energy report.

Alness Transition Town Group conducted a survey towards the end of 2009 to find out our community's opinion on projects and activities on the themes of energy efficiency, renewable energy, waste, sustainable travel and local food. You can still give us your opinions by following this link (Click Here to take survey). You can also let us know of any projects and activities that you have come up with. Your feedback will be of great value to us when we look at how we are going to reduce our carbon footprint and dependence on fossil fuels in Alness. |
